Wellswood Oral History Project 2023

We would like to thank the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners for awarding us a grant in 2023 to allow us to record histories of many of our residents. Wellswood has such a rich history with many multigenerational homeowners who had a lot to share so we were able to capture some of these stories about how the neighborhood started and developed over the years.
We think this is what makes Wellswood Wonderful!

Hillsborough County Board County Commissioners - Neighborhood Mini Grant Purpose:
Designed to foster healthy, safe and engaged neighborhoods that strengthen our community. ​
This grant allowed us to take recordings of ten residents in Wellswood that answered the following questions.
1) Name, When did you move to Wellswood, Where did you live?
2) Earliest recollections of Wellswood
3) What businesses do you recall?
4) Describe the development of the neighborhood as you were growing up
5) What are your hopes for the future of Wellswood?.
